Insight Meditation Practice Gathering
With Patrick

Together in the spirit of community coming together, we will
explore a practice that trains us to live mindfully in
the present moment. Loosely based on teachings of Buddhist
Insight Meditation, also called Vipassana, we will begin
with a few, very simple instructions followed by a 30-minute
period of silent meditation. We will end with readings from
from teachers or poets and brief discussion.
Vipassana literally means "to see clearly." When we
live with an open heart and clear mind our interconnection
with all things becomes visible, and wisdom and compassion
arise naturally.
Cost: Donation. The Buddha did not charge for his teachings
but was always supported by the community, providing as needed.
Often we are asked, "What is an appropriate donation?"
and we suggest $5 to $15. With gratitude we thank you
for your support of this space and this chance to gather.

This Circle is open to all who wish to experience healing for themselves
and their loved ones. As we heal, we move from fear to love. Our lives
become more loving and balanced as we open to new possibilities and renewed
creativity through our hopes and dreams. Our higher vibration of Love also
radiates out to all of Humanity, making it easier for all who desire
healing to shift as well.
In this Circle, we will activate the ‘Signature Cell’ in the pineal
gland to awaken the chromosomes of youth and vitality, thus reminding
every cell in the body of its perfection. An Ayurvedic approach to
breathing will be incorporated into the process, as well as light
healing music.
Bring your intention of change or manifestation with you to silently
incorporate this desire into your sacred heart space.

Wu Hsing (5 Element) Taoist Qi-Gong and I-Chuan Standing Meditation

Wu Hsing qi gong is an ancient Taoist method of chi cultivation,
based on the I-Ching, that has been practiced for hundreds of
years and is noted for it's ability to lower stress, clear
the mind, focus the will, and enhance one's overall health.
Wu Hsing qi gong is comprised of five simple exercises based
on the Taoist cosmology of the five elements and their
universal interaction.
I-Chuan standing meditation was founded by Xing-Yi Master
Kuo Yun Shun and carried forward by his student Wang Xiang
Zhai, and is based on the martial art of Xing-Yi Chuan.
I-Chuan is comprised of eight standing postures accompanied
by tan tien breathing and is well respected for it's
ability to lower blood pressure, focus the mind, and
enhance postural integrity and balance. I-Chuan is an
excellent practice for those with balance problems.

Sifu Rob Johnson is a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University
and has been studying martial arts for more than 30 years. Mr. Johnson
is an advanced student and disciple of Master Joseph Dunphy
studying Yang and Chen styles of Tai Chi, Xing-Yi Chuan, Ba Gua,
Internal Iron Palm and various Taoist qi gong and meditation
methods. Mr. Johnson teaches tai chi at Fitness First,
Mountain Spirit Yoga, and his own school, Taoist Martial Arts.

The Didge Brothers will demonstrate instruments from many cultures including
the ancient Australian Aboriginal Dreamtime to the New Age.
 Two methods of
healing with the didgeridoo will be presented. In the Coherence Exercise
Joe and his wife Margaret show the resonance emanating from the Ionosphere
of the earth which is attuned to the energy emanating from the
human heart.
Using the power in this center, we make changes in the world.
Individual healings offered by Joe and Jerry use didgeridoos of
exceptional vibratory quality to break up energy blockages accumulated
due to physical or emotional stress.

 This class is for those of you who want to heighten your natural

experimenting in the secrets of the other realms.
This group will be doing a lot of field work and investigations
at haunted sites throughout Maryland. We will be using the
information and exercises we learned on detecting energies at
haunted sites and then using Spirit Photography for acknowledgement
of the spirits around us.

Meditation is not intended as an escape from life.
Rather it is a courageous practice in opening, accepting
and awakening to our true nature. As we do this, we
discover the capacity to be intimate with ourselves,

Cost: In keeping with Buddhist tradition and the
spirit of service, there is no required fee.
Rather, participants express their
gratitude for the opportunity and teachings by
offering donations. This is called "dana" (dana
means generosity in the ancient Pali language.),
and allows for an openhearted exchange between
participants and the facilitor and host facility.
Often we are asked, "What is an appropriate donation?"
and we suggest $5-$15. A dana basket is located near
the meditation room door..
Facilitator: Owner of Ten Thousand Joys, Patrick
has been practicing meditation for many years. His
first formal instruction came from his teacher
from India, Prem Rawat Maharaji in the early 80s.
Since that time, Patrick has taken traditional
Buddhist refuge vows and meditation instruction
given by His Holiness The Dalai Lama in Los Angeles
in 1996, and with the now deceased, former head of
the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, Penor Rinpoche.
Since 2004, Patrick has been a student of Washington, D.C.,
based, Buddhist meditation teacher, Tara Brach, who is
spiritual director of the Insight Meditation Community
of Washington.

 Owner of Ten Thousand Joys, Patrick has been a Reiki practitioner for
over ten years, having been "attuned" to this powerful energy healing
practice while studying therapeutic massage at Potomac Massage Training
Institute in Washington, D.C.
You may feel heat, you may feel cool, you may feel a pulsing movement.
Reiki is always given with the intention for our highest good and so,
most of all, you will feel cared for, nurtured and assured that this energy
is flowing through you to where you need it most. Reiki is a
Japanese word meaning, 'Universal Life Breath,' and it is that 'breath'
of the universe that flows through us, keeping us alive.
We focus on opening and balancing the energy centers within the body
while directing this gentle energy to heal any issues you may be
concerned about or working with during your session.
Most clients experience very deep relaxation and often doze off during
