My mission is to offer the most inspiring books, great music and other happy, joyful gift items for sale and at the same time, hold space for opportunities in the community to get together with groups and workshops to share information and experience all forms of joy. To me, I find joy in meeting people, learning new things, reading a great book, listening to music, massages and energywork, sometimes just sitting quietly, or any of some 9,995 other forms of joys.

Join us as we walk in silence for peace around the White House for a silent reflective walk for peace—in our hearts, in Washington, DC, in Iraq, and in the world In this time of war, conflict and division, we say to our nation’s leaders that war is not the answer. The way to peace is through cultivating peace in our hearts, in our actions, and in the world.

We start with a brief welcome and readings brought by participants. Then we walk in silence for about an hour around the White House. We close with a short meditation and reflection. No signs or banners are needed.

The last Tuesday evening of every month, the National Cathedral offers a wonderfully meditative labyrinth walk starting at 6:30pm, featuring live sacred music including celtic harp and native american flute. Join us for dinner afterwards at the Cactus Cantina!

Sanjay's Dream is building a free elementary school in a poor village in India, to enable the people there to realize their dream of educating their children, and breaking the cycle of hardship and extreme poverty.

Building a school in the village is only the beginning of our journey toward empowerment and a better standard of living for this community. But it's a powerful place to start!
